House of Hope is a mental health recovery resource center for adult Washington County citizens with severe and persistent mental illness. The facility provides peer support programs and healthy socialization opportunities. It is open from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Monday through Thursday.

The mission of the Suicide Awareness Alliance is to increase awareness of the impact of suicide and suicide attempts in Washington County, Ohio. The Alliance will make information and resources available to the general public about suicide and suicide prevention. Events include A Walk to Remember (April) and Candle Light Vigil (December). Board meetings typically occur on the third Thursday of every month at 5:30 p.m. at the WCBHB offices.

EVE, Incorporated seeks to prevent family violence and sexual assault through education and intervention, while providing supportive services to survivors; thereby promoting a safe and healthy community and improving the quality of life. EVE’s programs include emergency shelter, a 24-hour toll-free hotline, legal advocacy, service coordination, counseling, children’s programs, prevention programs, transitional housing and aftercare, a Survivor’s Loan program, food pantry, educational groups, transportation and clothing, childcare, and referrals to community resources. EVE is one of only a few shelters equipped to shelter men as well as women. This includes adolescent boys who need to enter with their abused parent. Today, with a budget of more than $500,000, the shelter continues its tradition of providing emergency services to survivors and their families as well as advocacy, transitional housing, counseling, children’s programming, support groups, educational programs, legal advocacy, and 24-hour hotline services.
Prevention Programs in Schools
Provides education and awareness programs designed to prevent the onset of teen dating violence, sexual assault, alcohol, and other drug problems entitled: “Too Good for Drugs, Too Good for Violence.” Also offers Supervised Visitation & Safe Exchange Center: The program provides supervised visitation for parents to have time alone with their children.
National Alliance for Mentally Ill Chapter & Support Groups
NAMI Connection is a recovery support group program for adults living with mental illness. The support group will provide respect, understanding, encouragement, and hope. This relaxed approach can support you as you share the challenges and successes of coping with mental disorders.
- Monthly 90-minute meetings, free of charge.
- Designed for adults (18 and over) living with mental illness.
- Facilitated by trained individuals who live in recovery from mental illness.
- Confidential – share as much or as little personal information as you want.

Family to Family Educational Program
This program is a free series of 12 weekly classes designed to help people understand and support their loved ones with mental illnesses. Learn about illnesses of the brain and their treatment. Gain communication and coping skills. Learn to be an advocate for yourself and your loved one.
